5 Best Places To Visit In Chicago
If you are planning to visit Chicago, then these five places are mandatory to visit (if you are not planning then after knowing about these places you will definitely plan)Through this blog I have shared about 5 best places to visit in Chicago in my opinion and based on my personal experience.
1. Skydeck Chicago
The Skydeck Chicago at the Willis Tower is a must-visit. It is one of the most beautiful scenes you’ll see in your lifetime and you cannot miss it. Willis Tower is a skyscraper in Chicago with 110 floors. The observation deck, known as the sky deck is located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower. While standing in the glass balcony of Skydeck you can clearly see Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin. You can experience the beauty of the city from a height and click crazy pictures for your Instagram feed. I literally don’t have words to express that mixed feeling of fear and excitement while standing on that glass balcony. I was scared imagining what will happen if the glass breaks. Believe me, it was a super adventurous kind of experience and that is the reason why I am asking you to definitely visit that place when you visit Chicago.
2. Millennium Park
Another most popular and fascinating tourist destination in Chicago is Millennium Park. This park is a part of the larger Grant Park and is located in downtown Chicago. The park is prepossessing and alluring and is full of a variety of things inside the park. One such sculpture is the Cloud Gate whose design was inspired by liquid mercury. It is great for taking photographs and showing your photography skills since it has unique reflective properties. Another amazing attraction is the Crown Fountain. The specialty of this fountain is the fact that it gives the appearance as if the water is flowing from the people’s mouth. I assure you that visiting Millennium Park is going to be a great experience.
3. Buckingham Fountain
The Clarence Buckingham Memorial Fountain is one of the largest fountains in the world. It is located in Grant Park. Every one hour there is a major water display for 20 minutes in which a center jet of the fountain shoots the water to a height of 150 ft above ground into the air. Light and music shows also accompany the major water display which is worth watching. Also, the fountain has got a cool history because of its wedding cake style structure. Doesn’t it give you thoughts like “ Really, a wedding cake style structure?” yeah even I was amazed.
Talking about the sights to visit in Chicago, Riverwalk is a mandatory sight. With an exclusive range of restaurants and pubs, the river walk provides a perfect atmosphere for fun and enjoyment. Full of recreational activities, one can easily find Chicago Cycle Boats, eco-conscious Chicago Electric Boat Company, Island Party Hut tiki boats, and water taxis in the riverwalk. It’s really adventurous and you are going to love them. I vividly remember dining at the Odyssey’s glass-enclosed Chicago River dinner cruises and enjoying the panoramic view at the riverwalk.
5. Navy Pier
After a tiring day of sightseeing, comes the evening when though we are tired but we don’t wish to waste those hours in the hotels. So, there couldn’t be a place better than Navy Pier to spend a relaxed and pleasant evening after a tiresome day. Spread over 50 acres of land, Giant Ferris Wheel, a beer garden, and live entertainment are the exclusives of Navy Pier. If you like theatre plays, then the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, a theater that performs Shakespeare’s productions will be your favorite part about Navy Pier. I remember that though we tried to utilize each minute at Navy Pier but still there were so many places in the Navy Pier that we didn’t see due to the shortage of time. So, make sure to plan things well before you go there.
So, these were my favorite sights of Chicago. Make sure to share your experience and the best places to visit in Chicago in your opinion.
